Remote Controlled Car
This was a project to explore the concept of kitbashing and working with materials that have already been manufactured. Throughout the project, there was a heavy emphasis on the materials used, particularly the different types of plastics utilized and the abilities of each.
The guidelines for the project were primarily based around the materials used. Outside of the base of the RC car, only plastic could be used, with no 3D printed components allowed on the vehicle. The overall theme of the project had to be “apocalyptic”, but creative freedom within that realm was loose.

As the theme of the project was apocalyptic, Mad Max was the first thing to come to my mind. Although I had never seen the movies, I was familiar with many of the vehicles represented in the franchise. From the start I wanted to put the chassis of an old car on an off-road base, and stance it up in the back to give it a more aggressive appearance. My original idea was to do a police car, but after shopping and finding a remote controlled buggy with yellow accents, I figured I would do a taxi instead.
Overall, I am very happy with how the project turned out. This was my first attempt at kitbashing and building a model vehicle. It is rough on the details, but I learned a lot. A very enjoyable project for sure.
